Jamsil Barnes Born? Failed to go to KIA → Hatch Contract Terminated → Doosan dramatically joined..."I'll catch both left and right hitters with sweeper."

Will Doosan Bears' new foreign pitcher Zach Rogue be able to play as "Jamsil Barnes"? Rogue is expected to show great advantage to left-handed hitters with his tricky arm angle like Charlie Barnes of the Lotte Giants. Rogue also expressed confidence that he can catch right-handed hitters with his flagship weapon, the sweeper. 바카라

Rogue participated in spring camp training at Blacktown Ballpark in Australia on the 5th. Rogue checked his pitching condition while playing his third bullpen pitch in camp.

"I felt good pitching in the bullpen today. I threw about 40 pitches, but I tried to maximize the sense of the pitch as much as possible, and I pitched while simulating left and right hitters in the last minute," Rogue told reporters on Sunday. "I like the official KBO League ball. It's a little smaller, but I can feel the stitches more strongly. I think it will be more useful when throwing breaking balls."

Rogue's strength is his sharp breaking ball movement from sophisticated commands and powerful pitching angles. Rogue can play four-seam fastballs, sinkers, cutters, changeups, and sweeper. Notably, Rogue plans to use the sweeper, which was properly equipped, as its most powerful weapon since last year.

Rogue said, "My strength is my ball control. I pay attention to that the most when pitching in the bullpen. I also prefer throwing various pitches personally. It will be more difficult for me to deal with and I can pitch more efficiently from a batter's point of view." "I threw similar pitches to the original sweeper, but I started throwing sweeper in earnest from last year. I tried hard to make a flying motion without falling from left to right."

Rogue is confident that he can display strong points not only against left-handed hitters but also against right-handed hitters by using the sweeper. Rogue, who is evaluated as a similar type to Barnes, said his biggest challenge is to show his competitiveness against right-handed hitters.

Rogue said, "I don't have any particular concern about right-handed hitters. Sweeper is often used not only against left-handed hitters but also against right-handed hitters. I am also confident of catching not only the sweeper but also various pitches against right-handed hitters."

Rogue was at the top of the list of candidates for recruitment by KBO League clubs last year. Notably, the KIA Tigers, who were looking for a substitute foreign pitcher in the middle of the 2024 season, is known to be one of the teams that showed interest in Rogue. However, Rogue's entry into the KBO League was canceled when the Major League club under Rogue said it would not release the player.

Moreover, Rogue's joining the Doosan Bears was dramatic. Earlier in November last year, Doosan signed a 2025 season contract with right-hander Thomas Hatch for a total of $1 million. However, things changed dramatically when Hatch failed to pass the medical examination to join the team. Since then, Doosan has signed a contract with Rogue for a total of $800,000.

"It is true that I had contacts with various KBO league teams midway through last year's season. Personally, I wanted to challenge myself to Asian baseball as well. However, my team didn't allow me to transfer to the team at the time," Rogue said with a smile. "My motivation is that I can play the full-time starting rotation in the KBO League. I found a chance to test myself for one season, so I chose to go to Korea. I am especially satisfied because the opportunity to join Doosan was dramatic."

Meanwhile, Rogue is a left-hander from Ohio State who was born in 1996 and joined the Toronto Blue Jays as a total of 279 players in the ninth round of the 2017 rookie draft. Rogue moved to the Oakland Athletics in a trade for the 2022 season and made his Major League debut. Afterwards, Rogue joined the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent after the end of the 2024 season. Rogue's career performance in the Major League is 3-8 with a 7.20 ERA, 56 strikeouts, 22 walks, and WHIP 1.56 in 19 appearances (70 innings).
